Dolton W. McAlpin is Senior Counsel – Mississippi Legal Oversight. He is a native of Jackson, Mississippi. Mr. McAlpin received his education from Louisiana State University (B. A. 1968) and the University of Mississippi School of Law (J. D. 1973). Mr. McAlpin is licensed to practice law in the State of Mississippi and is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association and the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit. In addition to all Mississippi state and federal courts, he is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Mr. McAlpin has been active in several real estate and estate sections of the Mississippi Bar and has served for twenty years on the Mississippi Bar Lawyers and Judges Assistance Program Committee. For many years Mr. McAlpin has provided pro bono title services to the Starkville Habitat For Humanity and was the recipient of the Mississippi Bar Lawyer Citizenship Award for his work with Habitat.
